Buddy system
What is a buddy system?
A buddy system is a strategy used by many universities and companies to help new students or employees adjust to their new surroundings.
How does the buddy system work? By pairing a new student or employee with an «old» student or employee who knows about all the resources available on campus or at work, such as where to find food, use computers, etc. The «buddies» can also provide support for each other through this program.
Buddy systems at work are an effective way to help new students or employees adjust quickly and easily to their new surroundings. This system also allows for socialization and support for both parties involved.
A similar strategy can be used by businesses looking to hire interns: They'll pair up two interns at once, so they have each other's support throughout their internship experience. This gives both interns more confidence in themselves as well-rounded professionals (and makes them less likely than just one intern alone would be) without taking away from individual development opportunities like solo projects.
