What is 4DX?

4DX is a productivity framework developed by Gail McAllister, author of the book The 4 Disciplines of Execution. What is the meaning of 4DX? The 4DX management is a simple yet powerful approach to achieving results in any organization or business by focusing on four principles.

Four disciplines of 4DX

4DX is a methodology for achieving results. It consists of four disciplines:

  • Focus on the Wildly Important (Highest-impact outcomes that are clear and measurable)
  • Act on the Lead Measures (Leading indicators that inform you of your progress toward a goal)
  • Keep a Compelling Scoreboard (An accurate measurement of your lead measures)
  • Create a Cadence of Accountability (Regular calibration between actions, results, and learning)

The 4DX principles are designed to help you focus on the Wildly Important. This means getting clear about what is most important for your organization, team or project and spending time doing those things.
